Why dost thou boast of evil, O strong man? The mercy of God is day by day.

Those that trust in their wealth and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; none of them can by any means ransom his brother, nor give God an atonement for him; (for the redemption of their soul is of great price, and they shall never pay it) read more.
that he should still live for ever and not see corruption.

How long shall they utter and speak hard things? and all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?

And if some of the branches were broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them and hath been made participant of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if thou boast, know that thou dost not bear the root, but the root thee. Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off that I might be grafted in. read more.
Good; because of their unbelief they were broken off, but thou by faith art standing. Do not be highminded, but fear that if God did not forgive the natural branches, neither shall he forgive thee.

For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made void. For the word of the cross is foolishness to those that perish, but unto us who are saved, it is the power of God. For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. read more.
Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the philosopher of this world? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For in the wisdom of God, since the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save those that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, , unto the Jews a stumblingblock and unto the Gentiles foolishness; but unto those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. For that which is foolish of God is wiser than men, and that which is weak of God is stronger than men. For look upon your vocation, brothers, that ye are not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, but rather God has chosen that which is the foolishness of the world to confound the wise, and God has chosen that which is the weakness of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and that which is vile of the world and that which is despised God has chosen, and things which are not, to bring to nought the things that are, that no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him ye are reborn in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness and sanctification and redemption, that, according as it is written, He that glories, let him glory in the Lord.

And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes, that in us ye might not learn above that which is written, lest because of one, some of you become puffed up against others. For who makes thee to judge? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, what dost thou glory of, as if thou hadst not received it?

For we dare not mix ourselves in with or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves, but they do not understand that they are measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves among themselves. But we will not glory of things beyond our measure, but according to the measure of the rule, of the measure which God has distributed to us, to reach even unto you. For we do not overextend ourselves by reaching unto you; for we are also come unto you with the gospel of the Christ, read more.
Not glorying of things beyond our measure in the labours of others; but having hope of the increase of your faith, that we shall be abundantly enlarged among you according to our rule, to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, without entering into the measure of another to glory in that which has already been made ready. But he that glories, let him glory in the Lord. For it is not he that commends himself that is approved, but whom the Lord commends.

For by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God, Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Therefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people sacrifice unto me and honour me with their lips, but have removed their heart far from me, and their worship with which they honour me was taught by the commandment of men: Therefore, behold, I will again do a marvellous work among this people with a fearful miracle: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the prudence of their prudent men shall fade away.

Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things, that stretches forth the heavens alone, that spreads abroad the earth by myself; that undoes the signs of the fortune tellers and makes the diviners mad; that turns the wise men backward and makes their wisdom fade away;

And I, brothers, when I came to you, came not with puffed up speech or wisdom to declare unto you the testimony of God. For I judged not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling. read more.
And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be founded in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. For we speak perfect wisdom of God, and not the wisdom of this age nor of the princes of this age, that come to nought, but we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God predestined before the ages unto our glory, which none of the princes of this age knew (for had they known it, they would never have crucified the Lord of glory). But as it is written, That which eye has not seen nor ear heard neither has entered into the heart of man is that which God has prepared for those that love him. But God has revealed this unto us by his Spirit, for the Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the things of man, except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no one has known the things of God, but the Spirit of God. Now we have not received the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God, that we might know the things that God has given us. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but with doctrine of the Holy Spirit, jointly fitting spiritual things by spiritual means. But the natural man does not perceive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he understand them because they are spiritually discerned.

Who is wise and ready among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works in meekness of wisdom. But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, boast not and do not be liars against the truth. This wisdom is not that which descends from above, but is earthly, natural, diabolical. read more.

Let no one deceive himself. If any one among you seems to be wise in this age, let them become a fool that they may be wise. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He takes the wise in their own craftiness. And again, The Lord knows the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain. read more.
Therefore let no one glory in men. For all things are yours; whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or things present or things to come, all are yours; and ye are Christ's; and Christ is God's.

O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and of the knowledge of God! How incomprehensible are his judgments and his ways past finding out! For who has understood the intent of the Lord? or who has been his counsellor? Or who has first given unto him, that it be recompensed unto him again? read more.
For of him and by him and in him are all things. To him be the glory for the ages. Amen.
