And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped upon them, and overcome them, and prevailed against them, so that they escaped from his house, naked and wounded. And this was known both to all the Jews and Greeks who lived at Ephesus, and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified; and many of those who believed came and confessed, and showed their practices. And many of those who practised secret arts brought their books, and burnt them before all; and they computed the price of them, and found it to be fifty thousand [didrachmas] of silver [$8,333]. So the word of the Lord increased powerfully and prevailed.

But I will remain at Ephesus till Pentecost, for a great and effectual door is opened to me, and there are many adversaries.
