Therefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, elect, precious: and he that believes on him shall not be confounded.


Therefore whosoever hears these sayings of mine, and does them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock:



O you afflicted, tossed with tempest, and not comforted, behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires.

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.





To whom coming, as unto a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious, You also, as living stones, are built up into a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.

According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another builds thereon. But let every man take heed how he builds thereupon. For no other foundation can a man lay than what is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

For of this sort are they who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with various lusts, Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was.

And he said unto them, Is a lamp brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a lampstand? For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was anything kept secret, but that it should come into the open.

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I tell you in darkness, that speak in light: and what you hear in the ear, that preach upon the housetops.

No man, when he has lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but sets it on a lampstand, that they who enter in may see the light. For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither anything hid, that shall not be known and come to light. Take heed therefore how you hear: for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, from him shall be taken even that which he seems to have.

And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
