For the fact is [that] the land {that you are about to go into} to take possession of it [is] not like the land of Egypt, [from] which you have {come out of}, where you sow your seed and you give water by [your] foot, {as in a vegetable garden}.

I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing [it] to grow. So then, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who is causing [it] to grow. Now the one who plants and the one who waters are one, but each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor.

For it has been made clear to me concerning you, my brothers, by {Chloe's people}, that there are quarrels among you. But I say this, that each of you is saying, "I am with Paul," and "I [am] with Apollos," and "I [am] with Cephas," and "I [am] with Christ."

For whenever anyone says, "I am with Paul," and another, "I [am] with Apollos," are you not [merely] human? Therefore, what is Apollos and what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, and to each as the Lord gave. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing [it] to grow.

And it happened that [while] Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the inland regions [and] came to Ephesus and found some disciples.

But I say this, that each of you is saying, "I am with Paul," and "I [am] with Apollos," and "I [am] with Cephas," and "I [am] with Christ."

Now a certain Jew {named} Apollos, {a native} Alexandrian, arrived in Ephesus--an eloquent man who was well-versed in the scriptures. This man had been instructed [in] the way of the Lord, and being enthusiastic in spirit, he was speaking and teaching accurately the [things] about Jesus, [although he] knew only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue, but [when] Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained the way of God to him more accurately. read more.
And [when] he wanted to cross over to Achaia, the brothers encouraged [him] [and] wrote to the disciples to welcome him. [When he] arrived, {he} assisted greatly those who had believed through grace. For he was vigorously refuting the Jews in public, demonstrating through the scriptures [that] the Christ was Jesus.

So then, neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who is causing [it] to grow.

for you are still fleshly. For where [there is] jealousy and strife among you, are you not fleshly, and do you not live like [unregenerate] people? For whenever anyone says, "I am with Paul," and another, "I [am] with Apollos," are you not [merely] human? Therefore, what is Apollos and what is Paul? Servants through whom you believed, and to each as the Lord gave. read more.

But in giving this instruction I do not praise [you], because you come together not for the better but for the worse. For in the first place, [when you] come together as a church, I hear there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. For indeed it is necessary that there be factions among you, in order that those who are approved may become evident among you. read more.
Therefore, [when] you come together in the same [place], it is not to eat the Lord's supper. For [when you] eat [it], each one of you goes ahead to take his own supper, and one is hungry and another is drunk.

Blessed [is] everyone who fears Yahweh, who walks in his ways. You will indeed eat of the labor of your hands; you [will be] happy and [it will be] well with you.

They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat. For the days of my people [shall be] like the days of tree, and my chosen ones shall enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor for nothing, and they shall not give birth to horror, for they {shall be offspring blessed by} Yahweh, and their descendants with them.
