And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him.




so we, being affectionately desirous of you, were willing to impart to you, not only the gospel of God, but even our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.








And now I beseech thee, Lady, not as writing to thee a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we may love one another.




Now he that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is still in darkness: whereas, he that loveth his brother, abideth in the light, and is in no danger of stumbling. But he, that hateth his brother, is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not where he goeth, because the darkness hath blinded his eyes.

since we know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren: he, that loveth not his brother, remaineth in death. Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.

But if any one, who hath the good things of the world, seeth his brother in want, and shutteth up his bowels from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, or in tongue only, but in deed and in truth.

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is from God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He, that loveth not, knoweth not God: for God is love. In this was the love of God manifested towards us, that God sent his only-begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. read more.
Herein is love; not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent his Son to be a propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.










And many more believed on account of his own discourse: and said to the woman, Now we believe, not because of what thou hast spoken; for we ourselves have heard Him, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
