1 Kings 15:1 (show verse)
Now in the eighteenth year of king Jeroboam the son of Nebat, Abijah began to reign over Judah.
1 Kings 15:2 (show verse)
He reigned three years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom [Absalom].
1 Kings 15:3 (show verse)
And he walked in all the sins of his father, which he had done before him. And his heart was not perfect with LORD his God as the heart of David his father.
1 Kings 15:4 (show verse)
Nevertheless for David's sake LORD his God gave him a lamp in Jerusalem, to set up his son after him, and to establish Jerusalem,
1 Kings 15:5 (show verse)
because David did that which was right in the eyes of LORD, and did not turn aside from anything that he commanded him all the days of his life, except only in the matter of Uriah the Hittite.
1 Kings 15:6 (show verse)
Now there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all the days of his life.
1 Kings 15:7 (show verse)
And the rest of the acts of Abijah, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? And there was war between Abijah and Jeroboam.
1 Kings 15:8 (show verse)
And Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David. And Asa his son reigned in his stead.
1 Kings 15:9 (show verse)
And in the twentieth year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Asa began to reign over Judah.
1 Kings 15:10 (show verse)
And he reigned forty-one years in Jerusalem. And his grandmother's name was Maacah the daughter of Abishalom [Absalom].

And Asa did that which was right in the eyes of LORD as David his father did.
