And there was war between Asa and Baasha king of Israel all their days. And Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, because that he would let none of Asa's people, king of Judah, go in or out. Whereupon Asa fetched out silver and gold out of the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent it to Benhadad king of Syria, that dwelt at Damascus, and said, "There is a confederation between me and thee, and so was between my father and thine, wherefore I have sent thee silver and gold, that thou go and break thine covenant with Baasha king of Israel, that he may depart from me." read more.

And his servant Zimri captain of half his chariots, conspired against him, as he was in Tirzah drinking of strong drink, in the house of Arza steward of his house in Tirzah. And Zimri came and smote him and killed him the twenty seventh year of Asa king of Judah, and reigned in his stead.
