Great is my boldness of speech towards you, great is my glorying concerning you: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:



Of whom is Hymeneus and Alexander; whom I have delivered to Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.


To deliver such one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

I told you before, and foretell you, as if I were present, the second time; and being absent now I write to them who heretofore have sinned, and to all others, that, if I come again, I will not spare;

After that, he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded.






But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient to death, even the death of the cross.

For which is greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at table? but I am among you as he that serveth.

And after these things he went forth, and saw a publican named Levi, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he said to him, Follow me. And he left all, arose, and followed him.

If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.

The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so he opened not his mouth: In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

For even to this were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who committed no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:





And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.



For his letters (say they) are weighty and powerful; but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech contemptible.

Now I Paul myself beseech you, by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold towards you: But I beseech you, that I may not be bold when I am present with that confidence, with which I think to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh.
