Comfort » The duty of administering
And we urge you, brothers and sisters, admonish the undisciplined, comfort the discouraged, help the weak, be patient toward all.
"Comfort, comfort my people," says your God.
But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouragement, and consolation.
For you can all prophesy one after another, so all can learn and be encouraged.
so that now instead you should rather forgive and comfort him. This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair.
Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Therefore encourage one another and build up each other, just as you are in fact doing.

This punishment on such an individual by the majority is enough for him, so that now instead you should rather forgive and comfort him. This will keep him from being overwhelmed by excessive grief to the point of despair. Therefore I urge you to reaffirm your love for him.
