This I say then and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the other gentiles walk, in the vanity of their minds, with their understandings darkened, alienated from the life of God on account of the ignorance which is in them, on account of the hardness of their hearts,

and not as Moses put a vail on his face, that the children of Israel might not see to the end of that which has passed away; but their minds were blinded. For to this day in reading the old covenant the same vail remains, not taken away because it is taken away in Christ; but to this day when Moses is read a vail lies upon their minds;

SIMEON Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained a like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied to you by a knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. As his divine power has given us all things which pertain to life and piety, through the knowledge of him that has called us to his own glory and virtue, read more.
through which have been given us very great and precious promises, that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption which is in the world by inordinate desire, and for the same purpose also, giving all diligence add to your faith virtue, and to virtue knowledge, and to knowledge temperance, and to temperance patience, and to patience piety, and to piety brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these are in you and abound, they will make you not inactive nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ; for a man that is without these is blind, not seeing to a distance, and has forgotten the purification from his former errors.

But if the ministry of death engraved in a writing on stones was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the face of Moses on account of the brightness of his face, which passed away,

and not as Moses put a vail on his face, that the children of Israel might not see to the end of that which has passed away;

For those living at Jerusalem, and their rulers, not knowing him and the words of the prophets which are read every sabbath, fulfilled them by condemning [him];

and not as Moses put a vail on his face, that the children of Israel might not see to the end of that which has passed away;

and not as Moses put a vail on his face, that the children of Israel might not see to the end of that which has passed away;

but when they turn to the Lord the vail is taken away.
