Book Summary
The second epistle emphasizes truth. Truth and love are inseparable – for both are actions – God word in our hearts will become real action and that real action will always be shown in love. God does not speak in ideas but His truth speaks in actions – God created the universe with His word and Jesus showed God’s love on the cross. This reality is aptly described in Thomas Kempis, the imitation of Christ – “to whom the eternal word has spoken is free from theorizing.”
