And as soon as he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to depart into Macedonia, concluding that the Lord called us to preach the gospel to them. Therefore we set sail from Troas, and came in a direct course to Samothracia, and the day following to Neapolis; and from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a Roman colony.
