Wherefore of these men who have been with us all the time that the Lord Jesus was going in and out over us, Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

And we are witnesses of all things which he did, both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem; whom yet they slew and hanged on a tree. Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; (Not to all the people, but to witnesses, chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him) after he rose from the dead.

And he was seen many days by them who came up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are his witnesses to the people.

And we being with him in the holy mountain, heard this voice coming from heaven:

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life: For the life was manifested, and we have seen, and testify and declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father, and was manifested to us: That which we have seen and heard declare we to you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son, Jesus Christ:

Even as they who were eye-witnesses and ministers of the word from the beginning, delivered them to us:

Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord?

That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have beheld, and our hands have handled of the word of life:

Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

Then went out to him Jerusalem and all Judea, and all the region round about Jordan, And were baptized of him in Jordan, confessing their Sins. But seeing many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, Ye serpents, ye brood of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? read more.

Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said to him, Suffer it now; for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him. read more.
And Jesus being baptized, went up straightway from the water, and lo the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and coming upon him.

The baptism of John, whence was it? From heaven, or of men? And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we say, from heaven, he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?

John baptized in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance, for the remission of sins. And there went out to him all the land of Judea, and all they of Jerusalem, and were baptized of him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

I indeed have baptized you with water; but he will baptize you with the Holy Ghost. And in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John at Jordan. And coming up from the water, straitway he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.

Was the baptism of John of heaven or of men?

that came forth to be baptized of him, Ye brood of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come? Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance; and say not within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father; for I say to you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children to Abraham.

And publicans also came to be baptized, and said to him, Master, what shall we do?

Now while all the people were baptizing, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized,

And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God, being baptized with the baptism of John. But the Pharisees and scribes made void the counsel of God, toward themselves, being not baptized of him.

And they reasoned among themselves,

And they asked him and said to him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou art not the Christ, nor Elijah, neither that prophet? John answered them, saying, I baptize with water, but there standeth one among you whom ye know not.

These things were done in Bethabara, beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

And I knew him not, but he that sent me to baptize with water, he had said to me, On whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending and abiding on him, this is he who baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

Ye know the word which was published through all Judea, beginning from Galilee, after the baptism which John preached:

Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

He said to them, Into what then were ye baptized? And they said, Into John's baptism. And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe on him that was to come after him, that is on Jesus.

Wherefore of these men who have been with us all the time that the Lord Jesus was going in and out over us, Beginning from the baptism of John, till the day that he was taken up from us, one must be ordained, to be a witness with us of his resurrection. Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, going to the chief priests, Said, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him to you? And they bargained with him for thirty pieces of silver. And from that time he sought opportunity to betray him.

Then Judas who had betrayed him, seeing that he was condemned, repenting himself, brought back the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned, in betraying innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? See thou to it. And having thrown down the pieces of silver in the temple, he withdrew and went and hanged himself.

And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the chief priests, to betray him unto them. And hearing it they were glad, and promised to give him mony. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.

And while he was yet speaking, lo Judas one of the twelve came, and with him a great multitude with swords and clubs from the chief priests and elders of the people. And he went and talked with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him to them. And they were glad and agreed to give him money. And he promised and sought opportunity to betray him to them, in the absence of the multitude.

Jesus answered them, Have I not chosen you twelve? Yet one of you is a devil. He spake of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for he it was that would betray him, being one of the twelve.

Now before the feast of the passover, Jesus knowing his hour was come to pass out of this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, loved them to the end. And while they were at supper (the devil having now put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon,

Now he that betrayed him had given them a signal, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, is he: seize and lead him away safely. And when he was come, he goeth straightway to him, and saith, Master, Master!

And while he yet spake, behold a multitude, and he that was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and drew near to Jesus to kiss him. Men, brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost spake before by the mouth of David, concerning Judas, who was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity, and falling down on his face, he burst asunder in the middle, and all his bowels gushed out. read more.
And it was known to all that dwell at Jerusalem, so that that field is called, in their own tongue, Akeldama, that is, The field of blood.
