Acts 14:1

Now it came to pass in Iconium that they entered together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of Jews and of Greeks believed.

Acts 14:2

But the unbelieving Jews stirred up and embittered the souls of the gentiles against the brethren.

Acts 14:3

A long time, therefore, they tarried there, speaking boldly in the Lord, Who testified to the word of His grace, by granting signs and wonders to be done through their hands.

Acts 14:4

But the multitude of the city was divided; and some, indeed, held with the Jews, and some with the apostles.

Acts 14:5

But, when a hostile movement was made, both of the gentiles and Jews with their rulers, to maltreat and stone them;

Acts 14:6

they, becoming aware it, fled to the cities of Lycaonia, Lystra, and Derbe, and to the region round about;

Acts 14:7

and there they were proclaiming the Good News.

Acts 14:8

And at Lystra there was sitting a certain man, impotent in his feet; lame from his mother's womb, who never walked.

Acts 14:9

The same was hearing Paul speaking, who, looking intently on him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,

Acts 14:10

said with a loud voice, "Stand up on your feet, erect!" And he leaped up, and was walking about.

Acts 14:11

And the multitudes, seeing what Paul did, lifted up their voice in the language of Lycaonia, saying, "The gods, made like to men, came down to us!"

Acts 14:12

And they were calling Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, since he was the chief speaker.

Acts 14:13

And the priest of Jupiter whose temple was before the city, having brought oxen and garlands to the gates, together with the multitudes, was wishing to offer sacrifice.

Acts 14:14

But the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, hearing of it, having rent their garments, leaped forth among the multitude, crying out,

Acts 14:15

and saying, "Men, why do ye these things? We also are men of like nature with you, proclaiming to you glad tidings, that ye should turn from these vanities to the living God, Who made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them;

Acts 14:16

Who, in the past generations, suffered all the nations to walk in their own ways;

Acts 14:17

and yet He left not Himself without witness, doing good, giving you rains from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling your hearts with food and gladness."

Acts 14:18

And, saying these things, they with difficulty restrained the multitude from offering sacrifice to them.

Acts 14:19

But there came thither Jews from Antioch and Iconium; and, having persuaded the multitudes, and having stoned Paul, they drew him outside the city, supposing him to have died.

Acts 14:20

But, the disciples having surrounded him, rising up, he entered into the city; and, on the following day, he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.

Acts 14:21

And, having proclaimed the glad tidings to that city, and having made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, and Iconium, and Antioch;

Acts 14:22

confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to abide in the faith, and that through many tribulations we must enter into the Kingdom of God.

Acts 14:23

And, having appointed elders for them in every assembly; and, having prayed with fastings, they commended them to the Lord on Whom they had believed.

Acts 14:24

And, having gone through Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia;

Acts 14:25

and, having spoken the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia;

Acts 14:26

and thence they sailed to Antioch, whence they had been committed to the grace of God for the work which they accomplished.

Acts 14:27

And, having arrived, and having gathered together the assembly, they were rehearsing as many things as God did with them, and that He opened to the gentiles a door of faith.

Acts 14:28

And they abode there not a little time with the disciples.
