I will raise up a prophet for them {from among their countrymen} like you, and I will place my words into his mouth, and he shall speak to them {everything that I command him}.
And the crowds were saying, "This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth of Galilee!"
and [although they] wanted to arrest him, they were afraid of the crowds, because they looked upon him as a prophet.
But others were saying, "He is Elijah," and others were saying, "[He is] a prophet like one of the prophets."
And fear seized [them] all, and they began to glorify God, saying, "A great prophet has appeared among us!" and "God has visited to help his people!"
Nevertheless, it is necessary [for] me to be on the way today and tomorrow and on the next [day], because it is not possible [for] a prophet to perish outside Jerusalem.
And he said to them, "What [things]?" So they said to him, "The things concerning Jesus the Nazarene, a man who was a prophet, powerful in deed and word before God and all the people,
The woman said to him, "Sir, I see that you are a prophet.
Now [when] the people saw the sign that he performed, they began to say, "This one is truly the Prophet who is to come into the world!"

But [the things] which God foretold through the mouth of all the prophets, [that] his Christ would suffer, he has fulfilled in this way. Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and he may send the Christ appointed for you--Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the times of the restoration of all [things], about which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from earliest times. And let us make three shelters, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah," not knowing what he was saying. Therefore repent and turn back, so that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and he may send the Christ appointed for you--Jesus, whom heaven must receive until the times of the restoration of all [things], about which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets from earliest times. Moses said, 'The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You will listen to him in everything that he says to you. And it will be [that] every soul who does not listen to that prophet will be destroyed utterly from the people.' And indeed, all the prophets from Samuel and all those who followed [him] have spoken [about] and proclaimed these days. You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant that God ordained with your fathers, saying to Abraham, 'And in your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed.' God, [after he] had raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning each [of you] back from your wickedness!"
But Peter, standing with the eleven, raised his voice and declared to them, "Judean men, and all those who live [in] Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and pay attention to my words! because the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they received [them] and know truly that I have come from you, and they have believed that you have sent me.
I have many [things] to say and to judge concerning you, but the one who sent me is true, and [the things] which I heard from him, these [things] I say to the world."
For I have not spoken from myself, but the Father himself who sent me {has commanded me} what I should say and what I should speak.
Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works.
The one who does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
