And behold, a woman of Canaan coming out of these borders cried to Him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is grievously vexed with a demon.


and saying, Lord, my son lies at home paralyzed and grievously tormented.


And He said to them, which of you shall have a friend and shall go to him at midnight and say to him, Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has come from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him?


But Martha was distracted with much serving. And she came to Him and said, Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.



And another also said, Lord, I will follow You, but first allow me to take leave of those in my house.


And he lingered, the angel laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters (Jehovah being merciful to him), and they brought him forth and set him outside the city.




And hearing of a resurrection of the dead, some indeed mocked; and others said, We will hear you again concerning this.


each one's work shall be revealed. For the Day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try each one's work as to what kind it is.

If anyone's work shall be burned up, he shall suffer loss. But he shall be saved, yet so as by fire.


then you should have put my money to the exchangers, and coming I would have received my own with interest. Therefore take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.

For to everyone who has, more shall be given, and he will abound. But from him who has not, even that which he has shall be taken away from him.

Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withheld good from you.




He who passes by enraging himself over strife not his own is like one who takes a dog by the ears,


Do not go forth quickly to fight, lest you know not what to do in the end of it, when your neighbor has put you to shame.


But if you have bitter jealousy and strife in your hearts, do not glory and lie against the truth.

Do not strive with a man without cause, if he has done you no harm.



For I fear, lest somehow coming I might not find you as I wish, and that I shall be found by you such as you might not wish; lest somehow there be strifes, envyings, angers, contentions, backbitings, whisperings, proud thoughts, tumults;

For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brothers, by those of Chloe, that there are contentions among you.


But brother goes to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.






And she said to Abraham, Cast out this slave woman and her son. For the son of this slave woman shall not be heir with my son, with Isaac.




And the men of Israel answered the men of Judah and said, We have ten parts in the king, and we also have more right in David than you. And the herdsmen of Gerar strove with Isaac's herdsmen, saying, The water is ours. And he called the name of the well Contention, because they strove with him.

And there was strife between the herdsmen of Abram's cattle and the herdsmen of Lot's cattle. And the Canaanite and the Perizzite lived then in the land.

And there arose a great cry. And the scribes who were on the Pharisees' side arose and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man. But if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

How can I by myself bear your pressure and your burden and your strife?


And nation was beaten by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every distress.

And let not your heart faint, nor fear the rumor that shall be heard in the land. The report shall come in a year. And after that a report shall come in another year; and violence shall be in the land, ruler against ruler.

And when you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be troubled. For it must happen, but the end shall not be yet.

And He said to them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And great earthquakes shall be in different places, and famines and plagues. And there shall be terrors and great signs from Heaven.


he is proud, knowing nothing. He is sick concerning doubts and arguments, from which comes envy, strife, evil speakings, evil suspicions,



As coals to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a quarrelsome man to kindle fighting.








Do not let those who wait on You, O Jehovah, the God of Hosts, be ashamed for my sake; let not the ones who seek You be ashamed for my sake, O God of Israel,
