And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And, as His custom was, He went in to the synagogue on the Sabbath day and stood up to read.

Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-collector.




But even as you abound in everything, in faith, and in word, and in knowledge, and in all earnestness, and in your love to us; you should abound in this grace also.



For which is the greater; he who reclines, or he who serves? Is it not he who reclines? But I am among you as He who serves.








If then I, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you.



For even Christ did not please Himself; but as it is written, "The reproaches of those who reproached You fell on Me."







For you were not called to this? For Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps, He who did no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth, who when He was reviled did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself up to Him who judges righteously.

but according to the Holy One who has called you, you also become holy in all conduct, because it is written, "Be holy, for I am holy."


For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds. You have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
