Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Joash struck him three times, and recovered the cities of Israel.

However the people who dwell in the land are strong, and the cities are fortified and very large. Moreover, we saw the children of Anak there.

What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?

He gathered up all the food of the seven years which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was around every city, he laid up in the same.

It shall be, when the LORD your God shall bring you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you did not build,


I will uproot your Asherim out of your midst; and I will destroy your cities.


The king spoke and said, "Is not this great Babylon, which I have built for the royal dwelling place, by the might of my power and for the glory of my majesty?"

It shall be, when the LORD your God shall bring you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you did not build,

and Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city.

Beware lest you forget the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command you this day:

The children of Israel did not remember the LORD their God, who had delivered them out of the hand of all their enemies on every side;

and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes. You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates. It shall be, when the LORD your God shall bring you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you did not build, and houses full of all good things, which you did not fill, and cisterns dug out, which you did not dig, vineyards and olive trees, which you did not plant, and you shall eat and be full; then beware lest you forget the LORD, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

The LORD's Law is perfect, restoring the soul. The LORD's testimony is sure, making wise the simple. The LORD's precepts are right, rejoicing the heart. The LORD's commandment is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever. The LORD's ordinances are true, and righteous altogether. read more.
More to be desired are they than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the extract of the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned. In keeping them there is great reward.

Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you an engraved image in the form of anything which the LORD your God has forbidden you.

Beware lest you forget the LORD your God, in not keeping his commandments, and his ordinances, and his statutes, which I command you this day: lest, when you have eaten and are full, and have built goodly houses, and lived therein; and when your herds and your flocks multiply, and your silver and your gold is multiplied, and all that you have is multiplied; read more.
then your heart be lifted up, and you forget the LORD your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;

As for God, his way is perfect. The word of the LORD is tested. He is a shield to all those who take refuge in him.



He sends out his commandment to the earth. His word runs very swiftly.
