Thematic Bible: Earnest suppliants

Thematic Bible

For this I thrice besought the Lord that it might depart from me. And he said to me, My grace suffices thee; for my power is perfected in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather boast in my weaknesses, that the power of the Christ may dwell upon me.

And Moses returned to Jehovah, and said, Alas, this people has sinned a great sin, and they have made themselves a god of gold! And now, if thou wilt forgive their sin ... but if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book that thou hast written.

And he said, Let me go, for the dawn ariseth. And he said, I will not let thee go except thou bless me.

And now, Jehovah my God, thou hast made thy servant king instead of David my father; and I am but a little child: I know not to go out and to come in. And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude. Give therefore to thy servant an understanding heart, to judge thy people, to discern between good and bad; for who is able to judge this thy numerous people?

{To the chief Musician. A Psalm of David; when Nathan the prophet came to him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba.} Be gracious unto me, O God, according to thy loving-kindness; according to the abundance of thy tender mercies, blot out my transgressions. Wash me fully from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.

And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom.
