"LORD, let me know how my life ends, and the standard by which you will measure my days, whatever it is! Then I will know how transient my life is.

During this time, Hezekiah became sick with a fatal illness, so Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, approached him and told him, "This is what the LORD says: "Put your household in order, because you are dying. You will not survive.'"

O, that they were wise to understand this and consider their future!

Whatever the activity in which you engage, do it with all your ability, because there is no work, no planning, no learning, and no wisdom in the next world where you're going.

How sweet is the daylight, and how pleasant it is for someone's eyes to behold the sunshine! Even if a person lives many years, let him enjoy them all, recalling that there will be many days of darkness to come all of which are pointless.

For Sheol cannot thank you, death cannot sing your praise; and those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness. The living yes the living they thank you, just as I am doing today; fathers will tell their children about your faithfulness.
