but the seventh day shall be the sabbath of the LORD thy God; in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manslave, nor thy maidslave, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates;

If an ox gores a man or a woman that they die, then the ox shall surely be stoned, and his flesh shall not be eaten; but the owner of the ox shall be absolved. But if the ox were wont to push with his horn in time past and it has been testified to his owner, and he has not kept him in, but that he has killed a man or a woman; the ox shall be stoned, and his owner also shall be put to death. If there is laid on him a sum of money, then he shall give for the ransom of his life whatever is laid upon him. read more.
Whether it has gored a son or has gored a daughter, according to this judgment shall it be done unto him. If the ox shall gore a manslave or a maidslave, he shall give unto their master thirty shekels of silver, and the ox shall be stoned. And if someone shall open a pit or if someone shall dig a pit and not cover it and an ox or an ass falls in it, the owner of the pit shall make it good and give money unto their owner, and the dead beast shall be his. And if one man's ox hurts another's that he dies; then they shall sell the live ox and divide the money of it, and the dead ox they shall also divide. Or if it is known that the ox used to push in time past and his owner has not kept him in, he shall surely pay ox for ox, and the dead shall be his own.

If a man shall steal an ox or a sheep and kill it or sell it he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep. If a thief is found breaking into a house and is smitten so he dies, he that killed him shall not be guilty of his blood. If the sun is risen upon him, he that killed him is guilty of his blood; the thief should make full restitution; if he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft. read more.
If he is found with the theft in his hand, whether it be ox or ass or sheep, he shall restore double.

If thou see the ass of him that hates thee lying under his burden, will thou forbear to help him? Thou shalt surely help him to raise it up.

Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest, that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid and the stranger may be refreshed.

But thou shalt let the mother go and take the young for thyself, that it may be well with thee and that thou may prolong thy days.


For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treads out the grain. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

If thy enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink, for thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

Open thy mouth for those who cannot speak in the judgment of all the sons of death. Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and destitute.
