This, is the interpretation of the thing, - M'ne, God hath reckoned up thy reign, and ended it: T'kel, - thou art weighed in the balances, and found wanting; P'res, - snatched away is thy kingdom, and given to the Medes and Persians. Then Belshazzar, gave word, that they should clothe Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold upon his neck, - and should make a proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler over the kingdom. In that night, was slain - Belshazzar, the king of the Chaldeans. And, Darius the Mede, received the kingdom, - when about sixty-two years of age.

Wherefore, as I live, declareth Yahweh of hosts, God of Israel, Surely, Moab, like Sodom, shall become, and, the sons of Ammon, like Gomorrah, a possession for the thorn, and a pit of salt, Yea a desolation, unto times age-abiding: The remnant of my people, shall make of them a prey, and, the residue of my nation, shall inherit them. This, shall they have, instead of their pride, - because they reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of hosts.
