These six cities shall be a refuge for the sons of Israel, and for the stranger, and for anyone who stays among them, so that everyone who kills any person through error may flee there.

These were the appointed cities for all the sons of Israel, and for the alien who was living in their midst, that he who had killed anyone without knowing might flee there, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation.

And they shall be to you as native-born among the sons of Israel. They shall be allotted an inheritance among the tribes of Israel. And it shall be, in the tribe in which the stranger resides, there you shall give his inheritance, says the Lord Jehovah.
