For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath we are troubled.

How often is the lamp of the wicked put out and their destruction comes upon them, and God distributes sorrows upon them in his anger.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation and trouble by sending evil angels among them. He made a way to his anger; he did not spare their soul from death but gave their life over to the pestilence and smote all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham:

Through the wrath of the LORD of the hosts the land is darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire; no man shall spare his brother.

Therefore thus hath the Lord GOD said: Behold, my anger and my fury shall be poured out upon this place, upon man and upon beast and upon the trees of the field and upon the fruit of the ground, and it shall burn and shall not be quenched.

They shall cast their silver in the streets and their gold far from them their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels because it shall be the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

But with whom was he indignant forty years? Was it not with those that had sinned, whose carcasses fell in the wilderness?

with thy wisdom and with thine intelligence thou hast gotten thee riches and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:

They shall cast their silver in the streets and their gold far from them their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels because it shall be the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Provide neither gold nor silver nor money in your girdles,

knowing that ye have been ransomed from your vain conversation (which you received from your fathers), not with corruptible things like silver and gold,

Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none, but such as I have I give thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Behold, the money, which we found in our sacks' mouths, we brought again unto thee out of the land of Canaan; how then should we steal out of thy lord's house silver or gold?

And he commanded the steward of his house, saying, Fill these men's sacks with food, as much as they can carry, and put every man's money in his sack's mouth;

So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.

and weighed unto them the silver and the gold and the vessels, the offering for the house of our God, which the king and his counsellors and his princes and all those that were of Israel had offered. I weighed, therefore, unto their hand six hundred and fifty talents of silver and silver vessels of one hundred talents and of gold one hundred talents; also twenty basins of gold, of a thousand drams, and two vessels of clean brass, precious as gold. read more.
And I said unto them, Ye are holiness unto the LORD; the vessels are holiness also; and the silver and the gold are a freewill offering unto the LORD God of your fathers.

And the LORD has blessed my master greatly, and he is become great; and he has given him flocks and herds and silver and gold and menslaves and maidslaves and camels and asses.

with thy wisdom and with thine intelligence thou hast gotten thee riches and hast gotten gold and silver into thy treasures:

They shall cast their silver in the streets and their gold far from them their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD; they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels because it shall be the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

They lavish gold out of the bag and weigh silver in the balance and hire a goldsmith, and he makes it a god; they fall down and worship.

For any man of the house of Israel or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel who has separated himself from walking after me and has set up his idols in his heart and has established the stumblingblock of his iniquity before his face and comes to the prophet to enquire of him concerning me, I, the LORD, will answer him by myself:

Son of man, these men have caused their uncleanness to come up over their heart and have established the stumblingblock of their iniquity before their face: should I be enquired of at all by them? I will destroy the men and the beasts; I will destroy the fowls of the heaven and the fishes of the sea, and the wicked shall stumble; and I will cut off men from upon the face of the earth, saith the LORD.

And David says, Let their table be turned into a snare and a net and a stumblingblock and a recompense unto them;

But take heed lest by any means this liberty of yours becomes a stumblingblock to those that are weak. For if anyone sees thee who hast this knowledge sit at food in the idol's temple, shall not the conscience of him who is weak be emboldened to eat those things which are offered to idols? and through thy knowledge the weak brother shall perish, for whom Christ died. read more.
In this manner, therefore, sinning against the brethren and wounding their weak conscience, ye sin against Christ. Therefore, if food makes my brother to fall, I will never eat flesh nor do anything which may cause my brother to fall.
