Thematic Bible: Foretells his own death and resurrection (in peraea)

Now Jesus and his disciples had been on the road going up to Jerusalem, with Jesus walking ahead of them. They were astonished, and the others who followed were afraid. Once again, Jesus took the Twelve aside and began to tell them what was going to happen to him. "Pay attention! We're going up to Jerusalem. The Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and the scribes, and they'll condemn him to death. Then they'll hand him over to the unbelievers, and they'll make fun of him, spit on him, whip him, and kill him. But after three days he'll be raised."

When Jesus was going up to Jerusalem, he took the twelve disciples aside and told them as they were walking along, "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be handed over to the high priests and scribes, and they will condemn him to death. Then they will hand him over to unbelievers to be mocked, whipped, and crucified, but on the third day he will be raised."

Jesus took the Twelve aside and told them, "Pay attention! We're going up to Jerusalem. Everything written by the prophets about the Son of Man will be fulfilled, because he'll be handed over to the unbelievers, and will be mocked, insulted, and spit on. After they have whipped him, they'll kill him, but on the third day he'll rise again." read more.
But they didn't understand any of this. What he said was hidden from them, and they didn't know what he meant.
