For if a man thinketh himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let each one prove his own work, and then will he have his ground for boasting in himself alone, and not in comparison with another;

But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if any one is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass; for he beholds himself, and goes away, and immediately forgets what manner of man he was. read more.
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty, and remains there, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man will be blessed in his deed. If any one thinks that he is religious, and bridles not his tongue, but deceives his own heart, this mans religion is vain.



I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, wellpleasing to God, which is your spiritual worship; and be not conformed to the fashion of this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that ye may learn by experience what is the will of God, what is good, and wellpleasing, and perfect.

because if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, we have confidence toward God; and whatever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
