Jacob was boiling pottage (lentil stew) one day, when Esau came from the field and was faint [with hunger]. and [see to it] that no one is immoral or godless like Esau, who sold his own birthright for a single meal.
It was said to her that the elder [son] should serve the younger [son]. As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated (held in relative disregard in comparison with My feeling for Jacob).
