For he must reign until he put all enemies under his feet.
of how much worse punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy who has trodden under foot the Son of God, and esteemed the blood of the covenant, whereby he has been sanctified, common, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know him that said, To me belongs vengeance; I will recompense, saith the Lord: and again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing falling into the hands of the living God.
And he said to him, Well done, thou good bondman; because thou hast been faithful in that which is least, be thou in authority over ten cities.
He said therefore, A certain high-born man went to a distant country to receive for himself a kingdom and return. And having called his own ten bondmen, he gave to them ten minas, and said to them, Trade while I am coming. But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not that this man should reign over us.
But that the word written in their law might be fulfilled, They hated me without a cause.
They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of my head; they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the princes plot together, against Jehovah and against his anointed:
Thy hand shall find out all thine enemies; thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
Pilate says to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all say, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, What evil then has he done? But they cried more than ever, saying, Let him be crucified.
And when it was morning all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus so that they might put him to death. And having bound him they led him away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.
He that hates me hates also my Father. If I had not done among them the works which no other one has done, they had not had sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.
If the world hate you, know that it has hated me before you.
The world cannot hate you, but me it hates, because I bear witness concerning it that its works are evil.
