Therefore since we also are surrounded with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be weary and faint in your minds.

For you were not called to this? For Christ also suffered on our behalf, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps, He who did no sin, nor was guile found in His mouth, who when He was reviled did not revile in return. When He suffered, He did not threaten, but gave Himself up to Him who judges righteously.















And they made one who was passing by, Simon a Cyrenian, coming out of the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to bear His cross.

And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They forced this one to carry His cross.

And as they led Him away, they laid hold on one Simon, a Cyrenian, coming out of the country. And they laid the cross on him, that he might carry it after Jesus.



And bearing His cross, He went out to a place called, The Place of a Skull (which is called in the Hebrew, Golgotha)



And going out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name. They forced this one to carry His cross.

and he comes forth as a bridegroom from his canopy; he rejoices as a strong man to run a race,

I returned and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, nor yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all.




For they themselves witness what kind of entrance we had to you, even how you turned from idols to God in order to serve the living and true God,

God reigns over the nations, God sits on the throne of His holiness.


For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat in the throne judging right.

Justice and judgment are the foundation of Your throne; mercy and truth shall go before Your face.

Again he said, And hear the Word of Jehovah. I saw Jehovah sitting on His throne, and all the host of Heaven were standing on His right hand and on His left.

And he who shall swear by Heaven swears by the throne of God, and by Him who sits on it.
