And they, indeed, have been made priests many in number, because by death they are hindered from continuing; but He, because of His abiding forever, hath His priesthood unchangeable. Whence also He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, since He is ever living to intercede in their behalf. For such a High Priest was befitting us, holy, harmless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who hath no necessity daily, as the high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for his own sins, and then for those of the people (for this He did once for all, when He offered up Himself); for the law constitutes men high priests who have infirmity, but the word of the oath, which was after the law, constitutes the Son perfected forever.
