A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight.
Yahweh detests differing weights, and dishonest scales are not pleasing.
Honest balances and scales are Yahweh's; all the weights in the bag are his work.
Differing weights and differing measures, both of them alike are an abomination to Yahweh.
"'You shall do no unrighteousness in judgment, in measures of length, of weight, or of quantity. You shall have just balances, just weights, a just ephah, and a just hin. I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt.
Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah that is accursed? Shall I be pure with dishonest scales, and with a bag of deceitful weights? Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.
A merchant has dishonest scales in his hand. He loves to defraud. Ephraim said, "Surely I have become rich, I have found myself wealth. In all my wealth they won't find in me any iniquity that is sin." "But I am Yahweh your God from the land of Egypt. I will yet again make you dwell in tents, as in the days of the solemn feast.
