Hosea’s name means ‘salvation’ and he pictures Christ as the healer of he backslider. He heals us with his love, as Hosea says “I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love.” (Hosea 11:4) Christ drew us to Himself by showing His love for us by His actions. He went to the cross to draw all men to himself, to draw all men back into fellowship with God, back into real life, but because of the cross this life become more abundant than even Adam experienced before the fall – because now He would make His home in us.
