for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as their scribes.
"The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must observe and do whatever they tell you. But do not do what they do; for they preach, but do not practice.
And he said to them, "Therefore every scribe who has been instructed for the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old."
And the disciples asked him, "Why then do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?"
