They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild asses quench their thirst.

Behold, as wild asses in the desert They go forth to their work, seeking diligently for food; The wilderness yieldeth them bread for their children.

a wild ass used to the wilderness, that snuffeth up the wind in her desire; in her occasion who can turn her away? all they that seek her will not weary themselves; in her month they shall find her.

Doth the wild ass bray when he hath grass? Or loweth the ox over his fodder?

Who hath sent out the wild ass free? Or who hath loosed the bonds of the swift ass,

For the palace shall be forsaken; the populous city shall be deserted; the hill and the watch-tower shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks;

And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.

For they are gone up to Assyria, like a wild ass alone by himself: Ephraim hath hired lovers.
