Comfort » The duty of administering
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.
For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.
So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
