Whereas thou have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. Thou shall also suck the milk of the nations, and shall suck the breast of kings. And thou shall know that I, LORD, am thy Savior, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

Thus says LORD: Behold, I will turn again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have compassion on his dwelling-places. I will put in the wilderness the cedar, the acacia, and the myrtle, and the oil tree. I will set in the desert the fir tree, the pine, and the box tree together,
And those who shall be of thee shall build the old waste places. Thou shall raise up the foundations of many generations, and thou shall be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
For LORD has comforted Zion. He has comforted all her waste places, and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of LORD. Joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
The wilderness and the dry land shall be glad. And the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers, who says of Jerusalem, She shall be inhabited, and of the cities of Judah, They shall be built, and I will raise up the waste places of it,
