And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them who stumble at the word, being disobedient: to which also they were appointed.
In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and elevated, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim: each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory.
These things said Isaiah, when he saw his glory, and spoke of him.
Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread. And he will be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offense to both the houses of Israel, for a trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
