My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD; neither be weary of his correction: For the LORD chastens whom he loves and delights in, even as a father to his son.

And ye have quite forgotten the consolation which speaks unto you as unto sons, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art reproved of him:

But being judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

He is chastened also upon his bed with strong pain in all his bones,

O LORD, chastise me, but with judgment; not with thine anger lest thou bring me to nothing.

O LORD, chastise me, but with judgment; not with thine anger lest thou bring me to nothing.

He that chastens the Gentiles, shall he not correct? he that teaches man knowledge, shall not he know? The LORD knows the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

JAH has chastened me sore, but he has not given me over unto death.

If ye endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father does not chasten? But if ye are without chastisement, of which all the sons are partakers, then ye are bastards, and not sons. Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them reverence; is it not much better to be in subjection to the Father of spirits, and we shall live? read more.
For they verily for a few days chastened us as it seemed good unto them, but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.

They shall put you out of the synagogues, and the hour will even come when whosoever kills you will think that he does God service. And they will do these things unto you because they do not know the Father, nor me.

The light of the wicked shall certainly be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine. The light shall be dark in his tabernacle, and his lamp shall be put out with him. The steps of his strength shall be cut down, and his own counsel shall cast him down. read more.
For a net shall be cast at his feet, and he shall walk upon a network. The snare shall take him by the heel, and the robber shall prevail against him. The cord is hidden in the ground and a trap for him in the way. Terrors shall make him afraid on every side, and his own feet shall drive him away. His strength shall be hungerbitten, and destruction shall be ready at his side. They shall devour the protection of his skin; the firstborn of death shall devour his members. His confidence shall be rooted out of his tent, and he shall be brought to the king of terrors. He shall dwell in his tent, as if it were not his; brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation. His roots shall be dried up beneath, and above his branch shall be cut off. His memory shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name in the streets. He shall be driven from the light into the darkness and chased out of the world. He shall have neither son nor grandson among his people, nor any to succeed him in his dwellings. Those that come after him shall be dismayed at his day, as those that went before were overcome with fear. Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that does not know God.

O LORD, chastise me, but with judgment; not with thine anger lest thou bring me to nothing. Pour out thy fury upon the Gentiles that do not know thee and upon the nations that do not call on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob and devoured him and consumed him and have destroyed his habitation.

and to give you, who are troubled, rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with the angels of his power, with flaming fire, to take vengeance on those that do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, who shall be punished with eternal destruction by the presence of the Lord and by the glory of his power,
