He gave thanks. Then he took the bread, broke it and gave it to them, saying: This represents my body that is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me. Jesus responded to them: Truly I tell you if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood you will not have life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life! I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.
For I received from the Lord that which I delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread. And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take and eat. This represents (is) my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me. In the same manner, after supper, he took the cup, saying, This cup represents (is) the new covenant of my blood. Drink this as often as you do it in remembrance of me.
