Then the devil took him up into the holy city, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, "If thou be the son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, 'He shall give his angels charge over thee: and with their hands they shall hold thee up, that thou dash not thy foot against a stone.'" And Jesus said to him, "It is written also, 'Thou shalt not tempt thy Lord God.'"
