After that he appeared to over five hundred brothers at once, most of whom remain until now, but some have also fallen asleep.

The LORD said to Moses, "Behold, you shall sleep with your fathers; and this people will rise up, and play the prostitute after the strange gods of the land, where they go to be among them, and will forsake me, and break my covenant which I have made with them.

Why do you not pardon my disobedience, and take away my iniquity? For now shall I lie down in the dust. You will seek me diligently, but I shall not be."


He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep."

For David, after he had in his own generation served the counsel of God, fell asleep, and was placed with his fathers, and saw decay.

so man lies down and doesn't rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

When they are heated, I will make their feast, and I will make them drunk, that they may rejoice, and sleep a perpetual sleep, and not wake," says the LORD.



Behold, I tell you a mystery. We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed,

For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we tell you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left to the coming of the Lord, will in no way precede those who have fallen asleep.



All of the host of heaven will be dissolved. The sky will be rolled up like a scroll, and all its armies will fade away, as a leaf fades from off a vine or a fig tree.

And, "You, Lord, in the beginning, laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the works of your hands. They will perish, but you continue. They all will grow old like a garment does. As a cloak, you will roll them up, and like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will have no end."


so man lies down and doesn't rise. Until the heavens are no more, they shall not awake, nor be roused out of their sleep.

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look on the earth beneath; for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment; and those who dwell therein shall die in the same way: but my salvation shall be forever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.


I saw a great white throne, and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.




I saw when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake. The sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became as blood. The stars of the sky fell to the earth, like a fig tree dropping its unripe figs when it is shaken by a great wind. The sky was removed like a scroll when it is rolled up. Every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

In the beginning, LORD, you laid the foundation of the earth. The heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will endure. Yes, all of them will wear out like a garment. You will change them like a cloak, and they will be changed.


Behold, and answer me, LORD, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;


When your days are fulfilled, and you shall sleep with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who shall proceed out of your bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

he said, "Make room, because the girl is not dead, but sleeping." They were ridiculing him.


And when he had entered in, he said to them, "Why do you make an uproar and weep? The child is not dead, but is asleep.

All were weeping and mourning her, but he said, "Do not weep. She is not dead, but sleeping."

He said these things, and after that, he said to them, "Our friend, Lazarus, has fallen asleep, but I am going so that I may awake him out of sleep." The disciples said to him, "Lord, if he has fallen asleep, he will recover."
