Man » The days of man
Man's days are as grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. The wind passes over it, and it is gone; and its place shall know it no more.
Man born of woman, lives a short life that is full of trouble. He springs up like a flower and fades away. He is like a fleeting shadow and does not endure. Do you look on such a person? Will you bring him before you for judgment? read more.
Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one! Man's days are determined. You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed.

Who can bring what is pure from the impure? No one! Man's days are determined. You have decreed the number of his months and have set limits he cannot exceed. So look away from him and let him alone, till he has put in his time like a hired man. At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth growth like a plant. On the other hand man dies and is laid low. He breathes his last and is no more!

Sin » Mankind being sinful in nature
You have never heard about them. You have never known about them. Your ears have never been open to hear them before. I know that you have acted very treacherously and that you have been called a rebel since you were born.

([[Psalm of David] when the prophet Nathan came to him after David's adultery with Bathsheba:]) Have mercy on me, O God, in keeping with your loving-kindness. According to your unlimited compassion, wipe out my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly from my perversity (iniquity) (guilt), and cleanse me from my sin. I admit my transgressions. My sin is always in front of me. read more.
I have sinned against you, especially you. I have done what you consider evil in your sight. So you hand down justice when you speak, and you are blameless when you judge. Indeed, I was born in perversity (mischief) (evil). I was a sinner when my mother conceived me.

([Psalm of David]) Do you indeed speak righteousness, you silent ones (O you God-like ones)? Do you judge uprightly, you sons of men? No, in your heart you plot unrighteousness. You measure out the violence of your hands on the earth. The wicked go astray from the womb. They are wayward as soon as they are born. They speak lies.
You were once dead because of your trespasses and sins. You once walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the power (authority and jurisdiction) of the air, the spirit that is now active in the sons of disobedience. We all once lived in the lust of our flesh, indulging the desires (lusts) of the flesh and of the mind. We were by nature children of anger and violent passion, like everyone else.
