But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know the price of it; nor is it found in the land of the living. The deep says, It is not in me; and the sea says, It is not in me. read more.
Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, and silver be weighed as its price. It cannot be weighed against the gold of Ophir, against precious onyx, or sapphire; gold and the crystal cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for a vessel of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls; and the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it; it cannot be weighed against pure gold. From where then does wisdom come, and where is the place of understanding? Yea, it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and hidden from the birds of the heavens. The place of ruin and death say, We have heard the fame of it with our ears. God understands the way of it, and He knows its place. For He looks to the end of the earth, and sees under all the heavens; making a weight for the winds, and measuring out the waters by measure. When He made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning to thunder; then He saw it, and declared it; He prepared it, yea, and searched it out. And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding!

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding. For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold; she is more precious than rubies; and all the things you can desire are not to be compared with her. read more.

By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and judgment, and they shall be life to your soul and grace to your neck; then you shall walk in your way safely, and your foot shall not stumble. When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yea, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

Sons, hear the instruction of a father, and listen in order to know understanding. For I give you good teaching; do not forsake my law. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. read more.
He also taught me, and said to me, Let your heart hold fast my words, keep my commandments and live. Get wisdom, get understanding; forget not; nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she shall preserve you; love her, and she shall keep you. Wisdom is the main thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding. Prize her, and she shall lift you up; she shall bring you to honor when you embrace her. She shall give to your hand an ornament of grace; she shall shield you with a crown of glory. a land in which you shall eat bread without want. You shall not lack any thing in it. It is a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper.

Surely there is a mine for the silver, and a place where they refine gold. Iron is taken out of the earth, and bronze is melted out of the stone. He sets an end to darkness, and to every extremity He searches out the stones of darkness and the shadow of death. read more.
He opens a shaft far from the visitor; they are forgotten by man's foot; they hang far away from men, they swing to and fro. As to the earth, out of it comes bread; and underneath it is turned up like fire.

more to be desired than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

Therefore I love Your Commandments above gold; yea, even fine gold.

For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold;

My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and what I give is better than choice silver.

I will make a man more precious than gold; even a man than the fine gold of Ophir.

Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, and silver be weighed as its price. It cannot be weighed against the gold of Ophir, against precious onyx, or sapphire;

And Abraham listened to Ephron. And Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, which passes with the merchant.

Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, and silver be weighed as its price.

And I said to them, If it is good, give My price; and if not, let it go. So they weighed My price thirty pieces of silver.

And it happened, when we came to the inn, that we opened our sacks, and, behold, every man's silver was in the mouth of his sack, our silver in full weight. And we have brought it again in our hands.

And I bought the field in Anathoth, of Hanameel my uncle's son, and weighed him the silver, seventeen shekels of silver. And I wrote it in the document, and sealed it, and called witnesses, and weighed the silver in the scales.

Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, and silver be weighed as its price.

For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold;

Receive my instruction and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold.
