But where shall wisdom be found? And where is the place of understanding? Man does not know the price of it; nor is it found in the land of the living. The deep says, It is not in me; and the sea says, It is not in me. read more.
Pure gold cannot be given in its stead, and silver be weighed as its price. It cannot be weighed against the gold of Ophir, against precious onyx, or sapphire; gold and the crystal cannot equal it, nor can it be exchanged for a vessel of fine gold. No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls; and the price of wisdom is above rubies. The topaz of Ethiopia cannot equal it; it cannot be weighed against pure gold. From where then does wisdom come, and where is the place of understanding? Yea, it is hidden from the eyes of all living, and hidden from the birds of the heavens. The place of ruin and death say, We have heard the fame of it with our ears. God understands the way of it, and He knows its place. For He looks to the end of the earth, and sees under all the heavens; making a weight for the winds, and measuring out the waters by measure. When He made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning to thunder; then He saw it, and declared it; He prepared it, yea, and searched it out. And to man He said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom! And to depart from evil is understanding!

Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gets understanding. For the profit from it is better than the gain from silver, and its produce more than fine gold; she is more precious than rubies; and all the things you can desire are not to be compared with her. read more.

She is a tree of life to those who lay hold upon her; and happy is everyone who keeps her. Jehovah has founded the earth by wisdom; by understanding He has founded the heavens. By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew. My son, do not let them depart from your eyes; keep sound wisdom and judgment, and they shall be life to your soul and grace to your neck; then you shall walk in your way safely, and your foot shall not stumble. When you lie down, you shall not be afraid; yea, you shall lie down, and your sleep shall be sweet.

Sons, hear the instruction of a father, and listen in order to know understanding. For I give you good teaching; do not forsake my law. For I was my father's son, tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother. read more.
He also taught me, and said to me, Let your heart hold fast my words, keep my commandments and live. Get wisdom, get understanding; forget not; nor turn away from the words of my mouth. Do not forsake her, and she shall preserve you; love her, and she shall keep you. Wisdom is the main thing; get wisdom; and with all your getting get understanding. Prize her, and she shall lift you up; she shall bring you to honor when you embrace her. She shall give to your hand an ornament of grace; she shall shield you with a crown of glory. Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of your life shall be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in the right paths. a land in which you shall eat bread without want. You shall not lack any thing in it. It is a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper.

Surely there is a mine for the silver, and a place where they refine gold. Iron is taken out of the earth, and bronze is melted out of the stone. He sets an end to darkness, and to every extremity He searches out the stones of darkness and the shadow of death. read more.
He opens a shaft far from the visitor; they are forgotten by man's foot; they hang far away from men, they swing to and fro. As to the earth, out of it comes bread; and underneath it is turned up like fire.
