Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard it from John, and followed Him.

Again, on the morrow, John was standing, and two of his disciples; and, looking upon Jesus as He was walking, says, "Behold, the Lamb of God!" And the two disciples heard him speaking, and they followed Jesus. read more.
And Jesus, turning and beholding them following, saith to them, "What are ye seeking?" They said to Him, "Rabbi," (which, being translated, means Teacher), "where abidest Thou?" He saith to them, "Come and ye shall see." They came, therefore, and saw where He was abiding, and they abode with Him that day: it was about the tenth hour. Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, was one of the two who heard it from John, and followed Him. He first finds his own brother Simon, and says to him, "We have found the Messiah," (which, being translated, is Christ). He led him to Jesus. Jesus looking on him, said, "You are Simon, the son of John; you shall be called Cephas," (which is translated Peter). On the morrow, He wished to go forth into Galilee; and He findeth Philip, and saith to him, "Follow Me." Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter. Philip finds Nathanael, and says to him, "We have found Him of Whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote??esus of Nazareth, the Son of Joseph." And Nathanael said to him, Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?" Philip says to him, "Come and see." Jesus saw Nathanael coming to Him, and He saith to him, "Behold, an Israelite, indeed, in whom there is no guile!" Nathanael says to Him, "Whence knowest Thou me?" Jesus answered, and said to him, "Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you." Nathaniel answered Him, "Rabbi, Thou art the Son of God; Thou art the King of Israel." Jesus answered, and said to him, "Because I said to you, I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these." And He saith to him, "Verily, verily, I say to you, ye shall see Heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."

And he preached, saying, "There cometh after me One Who is mightier than I, the latchet of Whose shoes I am not worthy, stooping down, to loose. I immersed you in water; but He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit."

John testifies concerning Him, and has cried, saying, "This was He of Whom I said, 'He That cometh after me hath become before me, because He was before me;'"

"I, indeed, immerse you in water unto repentance, but He Who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear, He will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and fire; Whose fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly cleanse His threshing-floor, and will gather His wheat into the granary, but the chaff He will burn with unquenchable fire."

John answered, saying to them all, "I, indeed, immerse you in water; but He is coming, Who is mightier than I??he latchet of Whose sandals I am not worthy to loose??e will immerse you in the Holy Spirit and in fire; Whose fan is in His hand, thoroughly to cleanse His threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into His granary; but the chaff He will burn up with unquenchable fire."

John answered them, saying, "I immerse in water: in your midst standeth One Whom ye know not??27 the One coming after me, the latchet of Whose sandal I am not worthy to unloose." These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was immersing. On the morrow he sees Jesus coming to him, and he says, "Behold, the Lamb of God Who taketh away the sin of the world! read more.
This is He of Whom I said, 'After me cometh a Man Who hath become before me, because He was before me.' And I knew Him not; but, that He might be manifested to Israel, for this cause I came immersing in water." And John testified, saying, "I have beheld the Spirit descending as a dove out of Heaven, and He abode upon Him. And I knew Him not; but He who sent me to immerse in water, He said to me, 'Upon Whomsoever you shall see the Spirit descending and abiding on Him, the Same is He Who immerseth in the Holy Spirit.' And I have seen, and have testified, that This is the Son of God." Again, on the morrow, John was standing, and two of his disciples; and, looking upon Jesus as He was walking, says, "Behold, the Lamb of God!"

And John also was immersing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there; and they were coming and being immersed. For John had not yet been cast into prison. There arose, therefore, a question, on the part of John's disciples with a Jew, about purification. read more.
And they came to John, and said to him, "Rabbi, He Who was with you beyond the Jordan, to Whom you have borne testimony, behold, He is immersing, and all are coming to Him." John answered and said, "A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given to him from Heaven. Ye yourselves bear me testimony, that I said, 'I am not the Christ, but that I have been sent before Him.' He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bride-groom who stands and hears him greatly rejoices because of the bridegroom's voice: this my joy, therefore, has been made full. He must increase, but I must decrease. He That cometh from above is above all; he that is of the earth is of the earth, and speaks of the earth; He that cometh from Heaven is above all. What He hath seen, and what He heard, of this He bears testimony; and no man receives His testimony. He that received His testimony did set his seal to it, that God is true. For He Whom God sent speaketh the words of God; for He giveth not the Spirit by measure. The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into His hand. He that believes on the Son has eternal life; but he that disbelieves the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."

There is Another Who testifieth concerning Me; and I know that the testimony which He testifieth concerning Me is true. Ye have sent to John, and he has testified to the truth.

And many came to Him, and said, "John, indeed, did no sign, but all things, whatsoever John spake concerning this Man, were true."

And, as John was fulfilling his course, he said, 'What do ye suppose me to be? I am not He. But, behold, there cometh One after me, the sandals of Whose feet I am not worthy to unloose.'

And there went out to him all the country of Judea and all those of Jerusalem, and were being immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

And, as the people were in expectation, and all were reasoning in their hearts concerning John, whether perhaps he himself were the Christ,

Then were going forth to him Jerusalem, and all Judaea, and all the country round about the Jordan, and they were being immersed by him in the river Jordan, confessing their sins.

And, wishing to kill him, he feared the multitude, because they were holding him as a prophet.

For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him; but the tax-collectors and the harlots believed him; but ye, having seen him, did not even repent afterward, that ye might believe him."

"If we say, 'From Heaven,' He will say, 'Why then did ye not believe him!' But, should we say, 'From men,'"??hey feared the people; for all held John to be a prophet indeed.

He was saying, therefore, to the multitudes coming forth to be immersed by him, "Broods of vipers! who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

and if we say, 'From men,' all the people will stone us; for they are persuaded that John was a prophet."
