How are you able to believe, [if you] accept glory from one another, and do not seek the glory [which is] from the only God? Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father! The one who accuses you is Moses, in whom you have put your hope! For if you had believed Moses, you would believe me, for that one wrote about me. read more.
But if you do not believe that one's writings, how will you believe my words?"

Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '? If he called them 'gods' to whom the word of God came--and the scripture cannot be broken-- do you say about [he] whom the Father set apart and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'? read more.
If I do not do the deeds of my Father, do not believe me. But if I am doing [them], even if you do not believe me, believe the deeds, so that you may know and understand that the Father [is] in me and I [am] in the Father."

Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works. Believe me that I [am] in the Father and the Father [is] in me; but if not, believe because of the works themselves.


I will raise up a prophet for them {from among their countrymen} like you, and I will place my words into his mouth, and he shall speak to them {everything that I command him}.

The one who does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

Everything that the Father has is mine. For this [reason] I said that he takes from what [is] mine and will proclaim [it] to you.


Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit [who is] in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God with your body.

Do you not know that you are God's temple and the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy this one. For God's temple is holy, which you are.

And what agreement [does the] temple of God [have] with idols? For we are the temple of the living God, just as God said, "I will live in them and will walk about [among them], and I will be their God and they will be my people."


Concerning this salvation, the prophets who prophesied about the grace meant for you sought and made careful inquiry, investigating for what [person] or which time the Spirit of Christ in them was indicating [when he] testified beforehand to the sufferings with reference to Christ and the glories after these [things],

"Therefore thus say to the house of Israel, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "{Not for your sake} [am] I about to act, house of Israel, {but} {for my holy name}, which you defiled among the nations {to which you went}. And I will consecrate my great name, which [was] profaned among the nations [and] which you have profaned in the midst of them, and the nations will know that I [am] Yahweh!" ' declaration of the Lord Yahweh, {when I show myself holy} {before} their eyes. " 'And I will take you from the nations, and I will gather you from all of the lands, and I will bring you to your land. read more.
And I will sprinkle on you pure water, and you will be clean from all of your uncleanness, and I will cleanse you from all of your idols. And I will give a new heart to you, and a new spirit I will give into your inner parts, and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh, and I will give to you a heart of flesh. And I will give my spirit into your inner parts, and I will make [it] [so] that you will go in my rules, and my regulations you will remember, and you will do [them].

Therefore prophesy, and you must say to them, 'Thus says the Lord Yahweh: "Look! I [am] opening your graves, and I will bring you up from your graves, my people, and I will bring you to the land of Israel! And you will know that I [am] Yahweh when I open your graves when I bring you up from your graves, my people! And I will put my breath into you so that you may live, and I will cause you to rest on your soil, and you will know that I, Yahweh, I have spoken, and I will act!" ' {declares} Yahweh."

Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works. Believe me that I [am] in the Father and the Father [is] in me; but if not, believe because of the works themselves. read more.

But the natural man does not accept the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he is not able to understand [them], because they are spiritually discerned. Now the spiritual [person] discerns all [things], but he himself is judged by no one. "For who has known the mind of the Lord; who has advised him?" But we have the mind of Christ.


Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves! The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. read more.
The one who eats my flesh and drinks my blood resides in me and I in him.

My little children, I am writing these [things] to you in order that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous [one], and he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for [the sins of] the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. read more.
The one who says "I have come to know him," and does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in this person. But whoever keeps his word, truly in this person the love of God has been perfected. By this we know that we are in him. The one who says [that he] resides in him ought also to walk just as that one walked.

Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak from myself, but the Father residing in me does his works. read more.

For consider your calling, brothers, that not many [were] wise according to human standards, not many [were] powerful, not many [were] well born. But the foolish [things] of the world God chose in order that he might put to shame the wise, and the weak [things] of the world God chose in order that he might put to shame the strong, and the insignificant of the world, and the despised, God chose, the things that are not, in order that he might abolish the things that are, read more.
so that all flesh may not boast before God. But from him you are in Christ Jesus, who became wisdom to us from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,

Beware lest {anyone take you captive} through philosophy and empty deceit, according to {human tradition}, according to the elemental spirits of the world and not according to Christ, because in him all the fullness of deity dwells bodily, and you are filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority, read more.
in whom also you were circumcised with a circumcision not made by hands, by the removal of the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, having been buried with him in baptism, in which also you were raised together with [him] through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead.

Dear friends, if our heart does not condemn [us], we have confidence before God, and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do [what is] pleasing {in his sight}. And this is his commandment: that we believe in the name of his Son Jesus Christ and love one another, just as {he commanded us}. read more.
And the one who keeps his commandments resides in him, and he in him. And by this we know that he resides in us: by the Spirit whom he has given to us.

We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in [the power of] the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, in order that we may know the one who is true, and we are in the one who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. This one is the true God and eternal life.


Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life in yourselves! Glorify your Son, in order that your Son may glorify you-- just as you have given him authority over all flesh, in order that he would give eternal life to them--everyone whom you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. read more.
I have glorified you on earth [by] completing the work that you have given me {to do}. And now, Father, you glorify me {at your side} with the glory that I had {at your side} before the world existed. "I have revealed your name to the men whom you gave me out of the world. They were yours, and you have given them to me, and they have kept your word. Now they understand that all [the things] that you have given me are from you, because the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they received [them] and know truly that I have come from you, and they have believed that you have sent me. I am asking on behalf of them. I am not asking on behalf of the world, but on behalf of those whom you have given me, because they are yours, and all my [things] are yours, and your [things] [are] mine, and I have been glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world, and they are in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given to me, so that they may be one, just as we [are]. When I was with them, I kept them in your name, which you have given to me, and guarded [them], and none of them has perished except the son of destruction, in order that the scripture would be fulfilled. And now I am coming to you, and I am saying these [things] in the world so that they may have my joy completed in themselves. I have given them your word, and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth--your word is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. And for them I sanctify myself, so that [they] themselves also may be sanctified in the truth. "And I do not ask on behalf of these only, but also on behalf of those who believe in me through their word, that they all may be one, just as you, Father, [are] in me and I [am] in you, that they also may be in us, in order that the world may believe that you sent me. And the glory that you have given to me, I have given to them, in order that they may be one, just as we [are] one-- I in them, and you in me, in order that they may be completed in one, so that the world may know that you sent me, and you have loved them just as you have loved me. "Father, [those] whom you have given to me--I want that those also may be with me where I am, in order that they may see my glory that you have given me because you loved me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, although the world does not know you, yet I have known you, and these [men] have come to know that you sent me. And I made known to them your name, and will make [it] known, in order that the love [with] which you loved me may be in them, and I [may be] in them."

Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? For indeed, he was crucified because of weakness, but he lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we will live together with him because of the power of God toward you. Test yourselves [to see] if you are in the faith. Examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize regarding yourselves that Jesus Christ [is] in you, unless you are unqualified?


The Spirit is the one who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life. But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.)

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch that does not bear fruit in me, he removes it, and every [branch] that bears fruit, he prunes it in order that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word that I have spoken to you.

I know that you are descendants of Abraham. But you are seeking to kill me, because my word makes no progress among you. I speak [the things] that I have seen with the Father; so also you do [the things] that you have heard from the Father." They answered and said to him, "Abraham is our father!" Jesus said to them, "If you are children of Abraham, do the deeds of Abraham! read more.
But now you are seeking to kill me, a man who spoke to you the truth which I heard from God. This Abraham did not do. You are doing the deeds of your father!" They said to him, "We were not born from sexual immorality! We have one father, God!" Jesus said to them, "If God were your father, you would love me, for I have come forth from God and have come. For I have not come from myself, but that one sent me. {Why} do you not understand my way of speaking? Because you are not able to listen to my message. You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father! That one was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand firm in the truth, because truth is not in him. Whenever he speaks the lie, he speaks from his own [nature], because he is a liar and the father {of lies}. But because I am telling the truth, you do not believe me. Who among you convicts me concerning sin? If I am telling the truth, {why} do you not believe me? The one who is from God listens to the words of God. Because of this you do not listen--because you are not of God."

But Jesus cried out and said, "The one who believes in me does not believe in me, but in the one who sent me, and the one who sees me sees the one who sent me. I have come [as] a light into the world, in order that everyone who believes in me will not remain in the darkness. read more.
And if anyone hears my words and does not observe [them], I will not judge him. For I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not accept my words has one who judges him; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

Jesus said to him, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you know him and have seen him." Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." read more.

"If you love me, you will keep my commandments.








I will raise up a prophet for them {from among their countrymen} like you, and I will place my words into his mouth, and he shall speak to them {everything that I command him}.

because the words that you gave to me I have given to them, and they received [them] and know truly that I have come from you, and they have believed that you have sent me.

I have many [things] to say and to judge concerning you, but the one who sent me is true, and [the things] which I heard from him, these [things] I say to the world."



The one who does not love me does not keep my words, and the word that you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.


Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us." Jesus said to him, "Am I with you so long a time and you have not known me, Philip? The one who has seen me has seen the Father! How can you say, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I [am] in the Father and the Father is in me? Believe me that I [am] in the Father and the Father [is] in me; but if not, believe because of the works themselves.
