Judas, not Iscariot, said to him: Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. But the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I have spoken to you. Peace I leave to you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, and let it not be afraid. You have heard that I said to you, I am going away, and am coming again to you. If you loved me, you would rejoice, because I go to the Father; for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it does come to pass, you may believe. I will not talk much more with you; for the prince of this world is coming, and has nothing in me.

But, we beseech you, brethren, concerning the coming of; our Lord Jesus Christ, and our coming together to him, that you be not hastily shaken from the persuasion of your mind, nor be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by report, nor by letter as written by us, as though the day of the Lord is at hand. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that day will not come, unless the apostasy come first, and the man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, read more.
who opposes and exalts himself above every one that is called God, or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, openly showing him self that he is God. Do you not remember that, while I was with you, I told you these things? And now you know what restrains, in order that he may be revealed in his own proper time. For the mystery of iniquity is already at work; only he that now restrains will restrain, till he be taken out of the way: and then shall that lawless one be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will destroy by the spirit of his mouth, and will utterly over throw by the brightness of his coming: he will destroy him, whose coming is, according to the energy of Satan, with all power and signs and wonders of falsehood, and with all the delusion of unrighteousness in those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, in order that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, in order that they may believe a lie, that all may be condemned who believe not the truth, but have pleasure in unrighteousness.

Little children, it is the last time; and, as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, even now there are many antichrists; by which we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us: for, if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.

Beloved, believe not every spirit; but prove the spirits, whether they are from God: for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, is from God: and whatever spirit confesses not that Jesus Christ came in the flesh, is not from God: and this is the spirit of antichrist, of which you have heard that it comes, and is now already in the world.

-whom, though you have not seen him, yet you love; on whom not now looking, but believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory,

He that has my commandments and keeps them, he it is that loves me; and he that loves me shall be loved by my Father; and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas, not Iscariot, said to him: Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself to us, and not to the world? Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him.

And to the angel of the church in Laodicea, write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know your works, that you are neither cold, nor hot: I wish that you were cold, or hot. So, then, because you are luke-warm, and neither cold, nor hot, I will vomit you out of my mouth. read more.
Because you say I am rich, and abound in wealth, and have need of nothing, and know not that you are miserable and pitiable and poor and blind and naked, I counsel you to buy of me gold that has been tried in the fire, that you may be rich; and white raiment, that you may be clothed, and that the shame of your nakedness may not appear; and anoint your eyes with eye-salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten; be zealous, therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

If, therefore, there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort arising from love, if any participation of the Spirit, if any affections and mercies, fulfill my joy, that you be of the same mind, having the same love, of one soul, of one mind;

What has a temple of God in common with one of idols? For you are the temple of the living God, as God has said: I will dwell in them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Paraclete, that he may dwell with you forever; the Spirit of the truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, because he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you.

When any one hears the word of the kingdom, and understands it not, the wicked one comes and catches away that which was sown in his heart. This is he that received seed by the way side. He that received seed on the stony places is he that hears the word, and immediately receives it with joy. Yet he has no root in himself, but endures for a while; and when affliction or persecution arises on account of the word, he immediately takes offense. read more.
He that received seed among the thorns, is he that hears the word; and the cares of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful.

These are they that received seed by the wayside, where the word is sown; and when they hear, Satan immediately comes and takes away the word that was sown in their hearts. And these are they that, in like manner, received seed in stony places: who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy: and they have no root in themselves, but endure for a time; afterward, when affliction or persecution arises on account of the word, they immediately take offense. read more.

For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision, whose mouths must be stopped: these subvert whole houses by teaching, for the sake of base gain, things which they ought not to teach. One of themselves, a prophet of their own, has said: The Cretans are always liars, evil wild beasts, lazy gluttons. read more.
This testimony is true; wherefore rebuke them severely, that they may be sound in the faith, and not give heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men that turn away from the truth. To the pure, all things are pure: but to the denied and unbelieving, nothing is pure; but their mind and their conscience are denied. They profess that they know God, but in their works they deny him, being detestable and disobedient, and, as it respects every good work, rejected.

He answered and said to them: "Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. For, neglecting the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, the immersion of pitchers and cups; and many other things like these you do. read more.

those by the way side are they that hear; then comes the devil and takes the word from their heart, lest they should believe and be saved. Those on the rock are they that, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who, for awhile, believe, and in time of temptation apostatize. That which fell among thorns are those who hear, and so conduct them selves, that they are choked by the cares and riches and pleasures of life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

And this is the message that we heard from him, and do declare to you: that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin.

And I heard a great voice out of heaven, saying: Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them: and they shall be his people, and God himself will be with them, their God. And he will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death; neither shall there be any more sorrow, nor crying, nor pain; for the former things have passed away.

But if our gospel is vailed, it is vailed among the lost, whose unbelieving minds the god of this age has darkened, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine to them.

But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you. And when he has come, he will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. Of sin, because they believe not on me; read more.
of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and you see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

Yet we speak wisdom among the perfect; but not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are brought to nought: but we speak God's wisdom in a mystery, even that which had been hidden, which God predestined before the ages, for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for, had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of Glory.

Jesus answered and said: This voice came not for my sake, but for yours. Now is the judgment of this world: now is the prince of this world cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.

to whom it was revealed, that, not for themselves, but for us, they ministered the things that are now preached to you by those who have made known to you the gospel, through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; into which things angels desire to look.

And he said to them: These are the words that I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled that are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. So, then, you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, an heir also of God, through Christ.

These things have I spoken to you, that you may not be ensnared. They will put you out of the synagogues; in deed, the time is coming, when he that kills you, will think that he is offering service to God. And these things they will do, because they know neither the Father nor me. read more.

But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you.

And we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we may know the things that are freely given to us by God: which things also we speak, not in words taught by man's wisdom, but in words taught by the Spirit, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things. But an animal man receives not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he can not know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This is he that came by water and by blood, Jesus the Christ; not by water only, but by water and by blood: and it is the Spirit that testifies, because the Spirit is truth.

The God of our fathers has raised up Jesus, whom you slew by hanging him on a tree. Him has God exalted to his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, in order to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins: and we are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit also, whom God has given to them that obey him.

And, indeed, the Holy Spirit is a witness for us. For after he had said before,

Then they said to him: Who are you? And Jesus said to them: The same that I said to you at the beginning. Then said Jesus to them: When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you will know that I am He, and that I do nothing of myself, but as the Father has taught me I speak these things. And he that sent me is with me. The Father has not left me alone, because I always do what is pleasing to him.

But Jesus answered them: My Father works till now, and I also work. For this reason, therefore, the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the sabbath, but also said that God was his own father, making himself equal with God. Jesus spoke these words, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said: Father, the hour has come: glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee; as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him. By which will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

There is one body and one Spirit, even as you have been called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one immersion; one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in you all.

Jesus answered them: I have told you, and you do not believe. The works which I do in my Father's name, these testify of me. But you believe not, because you are not of my sheep. As I said to you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: read more.

Now, I praise you, brethren, because you remember me in all things, and keep the traditions as I delivered them to you. But I wish you to know, that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

And when all things shall have been put under him, then, also, shall the Son himself be subjected to him that did put all things under him, that God may be the all in all.

But remember this, that he who sows sparingly, shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully, shall also reap bountifully. Let each one give, as he purposes in his heart; not with grief, nor from necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; those, also, must I bring, and they will hear my voice: and there shall be one flock, one shepherd. For this reason, my Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it again.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine-dresser. Every branch in me that bears no fruit, he takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Now are you pure, through the word which I have spoken to you. read more.
Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He that abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing. If any one abide not in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and withers; and such are gathered, and thrown into the fire, and burned. If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done for you. In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and in this you will be my disciples. As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you; abide in my love.

Jesus answered and said to him: If any one loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him, and make our abode with him. He that loves me not, keeps not my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

Jesus answered them: Do you now believe? Behold, the hour is coming, and has now come, in which you shall be scattered, each one to his own home, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, for the Father is with me. These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you shall have affliction, but be of good courage; I have overcome the world.

And he said to them: These are the words that I spoke to you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled that are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then he opened their mind, that they might understand the scriptures, and he said to them: Thus it is written, and thus was it necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day, read more.

And these things they will do, because they know neither the Father nor me. read more.
But these things I have told you, that, when the time has come, you may remember that I told you of them. But these things I did not tell you at the beginning, because I was with you. And now I go to him that sent me, and no one of you asks me, "Whither goest thou? But because I have spoken these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart. But yet I tell you the truth: it is profitable for you that I go away. For if I go not away, the Paraclete will not come to you. But if I go away, I will send him to you.

and I will pray the Father, and he will give you another Paraclete, that he may dwell with you forever; the Spirit of the truth, whom the world can not receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, because he dwells with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I am coming to you. read more.
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more; but you shall see me. Because I live, you also shall live. In that clay you shall know that I am in my Father, arid you in me, and I in you. Then they said to him: Who are you? And Jesus said to them: The same that I said to you at the beginning. I have many things to say, and to judge with respect to you; but he that sent me is true; and what things I have heard from him, these I speak to the world. They knew not that he was speaking to them of the Father. read more.

Then Jesus answered and said to them: Verily, verily I say to you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do; for whatever things he does, these also the Son does in like manner. read more.

Jesus said to them: I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall never hunger; he that believes on me shall never thirst. But I said to you, that you have seen me, and yet you do not believe. All that the Father gives me, will come to me; and him that comes to me, I will by no means cast out. read more.
For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Jesus answered: Neither this man sinned, nor his parents; but that the works of God might be made manifest in him. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day; the night comes, when no man can work.

But this takes place that the world may know that I love the Father, and even as he gave me commandment, so I do. Arise, let us go hence.

Jesus spoke these words, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said: Father, the hour has come: glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee; as thou hast given him authority over all flesh, that he may give eternal life to all that thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, to know thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou has sent. read more.
I have glorified thee on the earth; I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore, when he comes into the world, he says: Sacrifice and offering thou hast not desired, but a body thou hast prepared me; in whole burnt-offerings and offerings for sin, thou hast had no pleasure. read more.
Then, said I, Behold, I come, (in the roll of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, God. After saying above, Thou didst neither desire, nor take pleasure in sacrifice and offering and whole burnt-offerings and offerings for sin, which are offered according to the law, then he said, Behold, I come to do thy will: he takes away the first, that he may establish the second. By which will, we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.
