Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. He that doth not love me, doth not observe my words: and yet the word that ye hear, is not mine, but the Father's who hath sent me. These things have I spoken unto you, while I have been with you. read more.
But the comforter, that is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, do I give unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Ye have heard, how I said unto you, "I am going away, and I shall come again to you." If ye loved me, ye would rejoice that I said, I am going to the Father: for my Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that when it cometh to pass ye may believe. I shall not have much more conversation with you: for the prince of this world is coming; not that he hath any thing in me,

But as to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and our gathering together unto Him, we beseech you, brethren, that ye be not soon moved from your steadiness of mind, or troubled, neither by Spirit, nor by word, nor by letter, as from us, that the day of Christ is at hand. Let not any one deceive you by any means; for it shall not come till there come an apostasy first, and the man of sin be revealed, read more.
the son of perdition, who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or the object of worship; so that he sits as God in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Do ye not remember, that when I was with you, I told you these things? And ye know what now hindereth him from being revealed in his own time. For the mystery of iniquity is already working, only there is one that hindreth till he be taken out of the way. And then the wicked one shall be detected, whom the Lord will destroy by the breath of his mouth, and abolish by the brightness of his coming: who comes, through the efficacy of Satan, with all kind of lying power, and signs, and wonders, and with all iniquitous fraud, among those that shall perish; because they received not the love of the truth, by which they might be saved. And for this cause God will send upon them the efficacy of error, so that they shall themselves believe the lie: that they may all be condemned, who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in iniquity.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that an antichrist will come, there are even now many antichrists, whereby we know that it is the last time. They went out from us, but they were not of us: for if they had been indeed of us, they would have continued with us; but this was done that they might be made manifest, because all, that are with us, are not indeed of us.

Beloved, believe not every Spirit, but try the spirits, whether they be of God: for many false prophets are gone out into the world. By this ye may know the Spirit of God: every Spirit that confesseth Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is of God: and every spirit that doth not confess Jesus Christ, who is come in the flesh, is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, which ye have heard was coming, and is already in the world.

And if our gospel also be veiled, it is to those that perish; among whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of the unbelieving, so that the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, doth not shine unto them:

Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I should go away; for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you. And when He comes, He will convince the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgement: of sin, because they believe not on me; read more.
of righteousness, because I am going to my Father and ye shall see me no more; and of judgement, because the prince of this world is judged.

Yet we speak true wisdom among the perfect: though not the wisdom of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who come to nought. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, that hidden wisdom which God ordained before the worlds for our glory: which none of the rulers of this age knew; for if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

Jesus answered and said, This voice came not for my sake, but for yours. Now is the judgement of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, shall draw all men unto me.

to whom it was revealed, that it was not to themselves, but to us they ministered these things, which are now declared unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you, through the holy Spirit sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

And He said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all the things must be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and Psalms, concerning me. Then He opened their mind, to understand the scriptures: and said unto them, thus it is written, and thus it was necessary that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead on the third day; read more.
and that in his name should be preached repentance and remission of sins to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things: and I will send upon you the promise of my Father; but do ye continue in the city of Jerusalem, till ye are endued with power from on high.

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. So that thou art no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, an heir also of God through Christ.

These things have I spoken unto you, that ye may not be offended: for they will excommunicate you: yea, the time is coming, that whosoever killeth you, will think that he offers an acceptable service to God. And these things will they do unto you; because they have not known the Father, nor me. read more.
But I have told you these things, that when the time cometh, ye may remember that I told you of them. Though I did not tell you of them at the beginning, because I was with you. But now I am going away to Him that sent me, and yet none of you asketh me, Whither art thou going? but because I have said these things to you, sorrow hath filled your heart. Nevertheless I tell you the truth, it is expedient for you that I should go away; for if I go not away, the comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.

And when they bring you before the synagogues, and magistrates, and powers, be not solicitous how or what defence to make, or what to say: for the holy Spirit shall teach you at that very time what ye ought to say.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. But when the Spirit of truth is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He will not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that will He speak, and will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me, for He shall take of mine and shew it unto you.

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit of God; that we might know the things that are graciously bestowed upon us by God: which we also speak of, not in words dictated by human wisdom, but in those which are dictated by the holy Spirit; explaining spiritual things by spiritual words. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness to him; and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

This is He that came by water and by blood, even Jesus the Messiah; not with water only, but with water and blood: and of this the Spirit beareth witness, for the Spirit is truth.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. The God of our fathers hath raised up Jesus whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Him hath God exalted with his right hand as a prince and saviour, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins: and we are his witnesses of what we declare; and so is the holy Spirit, whom God hath given to them that obey Him.

And of this the holy Ghost also beareth witness with us:

Then said they to Him, Who art thou? And Jesus answered them, Even the same that I told you at first. I have many things to say and to judge concerning you: but I only say, He that sent me is true, and I declare to the world those things, which I have heard from Him. But they did not know that He spake unto them of the Father. read more.
Jesus therefore said unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am He, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath instructed me, I speak these things. And He that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.

But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh without intermission, and so do I. For this therefore the Jews sought the more to kill Him, because He had not only broken the sabbath, but had also called God his own Father, making Himself equal with God. For I came down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him that sent me.

Jesus answered, Neither did this man sin, nor his parents: but that the works of God might be manifested in him. I must perform the works of Him that sent me, while it is day: the night is coming, when no man can work.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up his eyes to heaven and said,--- "Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify Thee: as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. read more.
I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do:

For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore upon his coming into the world He saith, "Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire, but a body hast thou prepared me: in whole burnt-offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure: read more.
then said I, Lo I come, as in the volume of the book it is written of me, to do thy will, O God." Having said before, "Thou didst not desire, nor hadst pleasure in, sacrifice and offering, and whole burnt-offerings, and sacrifices for sin," (which are offered by the law) then He adds, "Lo I come to do thy will, O God." (He taketh away the first, that He may establish the second.) By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in all.

Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe me: though the works that I do in the name of my Father, testify of me. But ye believe not; because ye are not of my sheep: for as I said unto you, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. read more.
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; nor shall any one force them out of my hand. My Father who gave them to me, is greater than all: and therefore none is able to force them out of my Father's hand.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. Now I commend you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. But I would have you know that Christ is the head of every man; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

And when all things shall be subjected to Him, then shall the Son also himself be subject to Him, that put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.

When Jesus had spoken these words, He lifted up his eyes to heaven and said,--- "Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify Thee: as Thou hast given Him power over all flesh, that as to all which Thou hast given Him, He might give them eternal life; and this is life eternal, to know Thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. read more.
I have glorified Thee on earth, I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do: and now, O Father, glorify Thou me with thine own self, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was made. I have manifested thy name to the men, whom Thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and Thou gavest them to me, and they have kept thy word. They now know that all things whatsoever Thou hast given me, are indeed from Thee; for the instructions, which Thou gavest me, I have given to them: and they have received them, and have known of a truth that I came from Thee, and have believed that thou hast sent me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom Thou hast given me, for they are thine. And all my concerns are thine, and thine are mine: and I am therefore glorified in them. And as I am to be no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I am coming to Thee, Holy Father, keep by thy name those whom Thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name; I have preserved those whom Thou gavest me, and none of them is lost; except the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled. But now I am coming to Thee, and I speak these things in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in them. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I do not pray that Thou wouldest take them out of the world, but that thou wouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by thy truth: thy word is truth. As Thou hast sent me into the world, so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also may be sanctified through the truth. Nor do I pray for these only, but for them also that shall believe on me through their word. That they all may be one, as Thou, O Father, art in me, and I in Thee; that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me. And the glory which thou gavest me, I have given them: that they may be one, even as we are one. I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that Thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as Thou hast loved me. Father, I desire that they also, whom thou hast given me, may be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for Thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world indeed hath not known Thee: but I have known Thee, and these have known that Thou hast sent me. And I have made known to them thy name, and will farther make it known; that the love wherewith Thou hast loved me, may be in them, and I also in them.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If any one love me, he will observe my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and will make our abode with him. Jesus therefore said unto them again, Verily, verily I tell you, that I am the door of the sheep. All that came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not regard them. I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved; and shall go in and out, and find pasture. read more.
The thief cometh only to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they may have life, and may have it in perfection. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd layeth down his life for the sheep. But the hireling, that is not the true shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf seizeth them, and disperseth the sheep. Now the hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. I am the good shepherd, and I know my own sheep, and am known by them. Even as the Father knoweth me, and I know the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they will hear my voice; so there shall be one fold, and one shepherd. For this doth the Father love me; because I lay down my life: that I may take it again.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman: every branch in me that beareth not fruit He taketh away, and every one that beareth fruit, He purgeth, that it may bear more fruit. Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. read more.
Abide therefore in me, and I will abide in you: for as the branch cannot bear fruit of it self, unless it abide in the vine; so neither can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches; he that abideth in me, and I in him, beareth much fruit: but without me ye can do nothing. If any one abide not in me, he is cast out as a useless branch and withereth: and they gather them up, and throw them into the fire, and they are burnt. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask what ye will, and it shall be granted you. Herein is my father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; and so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, and I have loved you, continue in my love:

Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Behold, the time is coming, and is even now come, that ye shall be dispersed every one his own way, and shall leave me alone: but I am not alone, for the Father is with me. These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have trouble: but be of good courage, I have overcome the world.

I shall not have much more conversation with you: for the prince of this world is coming; not that he hath any thing in me, but that the world may know that I love the Father, and that I do as the Father hath commanded me. Arise, let us go hence.
