Then they will deliver you up to oppression, and will kill you. You will be hated by all of the nations for my name's sake.
But beware of people: for they will deliver you up to councils, and in their synagogues they will scourge you.
But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.
Remember the word that I said to you: 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also.
They will put you out of the synagogues, but an hour is coming when whoever kills you will think that he is offering a service to God.
Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

I will pray to the Father, and he will give you another Counselor, that he may be with you forever,? the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive; because it neither sees him nor knows him. Jesus therefore said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled."

In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we do not know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit's mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

Such confidence we have through Christ toward God; not that we are sufficient of ourselves, to account anything as from ourselves; but our sufficiency is from God; who also made us sufficient as servants of a New Covenant; not of the letter, but of the Spirit. Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. I am the vine. You are the branches. Jesus therefore said to them, "My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready. The world cannot hate you, but it hates me, because I testify about it, that its works are evil. You go up to the feast. I am not yet going up to this feast, because my time is not yet fulfilled."
