And straightway one of them ran and took a sponge and filled it with vinegar and put it on a reed and gave him to drink. The rest said, Let be, let us see whether Elijah will come to save him. But Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, gave the spirit. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; and the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints who slept arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many.

These things therefore the soldiers did. Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, said, I thirst. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar, and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it upon hyssop and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished, and he bowed his head and gave the Spirit.

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, came unto the princes of the priests to deliver him unto them. And when they heard it, they were glad and promised to give him money. And he sought how he might conveniently betray him.
And while he yet spoke, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the princes of the priests and elders of the people.
Then they took him and led him and brought him into the house of the prince of the priests. And Peter followed afar off.
Then the high priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said, What shall we do? for this man does many signs.
Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went unto the princes of the priests and said unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver.
And straightway in the morning the princes of the priests having held a consultation with the elders and with the scribes and with the whole council, took Jesus away bound and delivered him to Pilate.
Then the princes of the priests and the scribes and the elders of the people assembled together in the palace of the high priest, who was called Caiaphas, and took counsel that they might take Jesus by guile and kill him. But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar among the people.
And, behold, one of those who was with Jesus stretched out his hand and drew his sword and struck a slave of the high priest and smote off his ear.
And one of them smote the slave of the prince of the priests and cut off his right ear.
And immediately, while he yet spoke, Judas came, who was one of the twelve, and with him a multitude with swords and staves from the princes of the priests and of the scribes and of the elders. And he that betrayed him had given them a token, saying, Whoever I shall kiss, that same is he; take him and lead him away securely.
